Kevin Williams,, Ph.D

 

Kevin W. Williams Ph.D. is currently an Assistant Professor in the Division of Hypothalamic Research, Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.   Dr. Williams educational background includes an A.S. degree from Collin County Community College, a B.S. in Biology from the University of Texas at Dallas and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Tulane University in New Orleans.  The goal of Dr. Williams’s research is to identify novel neural circuits, neurotransmitters, and intracellular molecules in the brain that are critical for the proper control of feeding behavior, body weight, glucose balance, and cardiovascular health.  Ultimately, he hopes that results from his research will identify rational targets for developing potential therapeutic strategies for obesity, eating disorders, diabetes, and hypertension.
